The Story Behind SILQUINOX

Ritual-Driven Haircare.
Made for you

Silquinox was created with one mission: to simplify the journey to healthy, radiant hair — without the overwhelm.

Our founder knows first-hand what it’s like to feel lost in the haircare aisle. Endless options. No clear guidance. And little understanding of what actually works for your specific hair type. That frustration sparked a deeper curiosity: What does hair really need? And how can we make it easier for women to find it — with confidence?

From that moment, Silquinox began. Rooted in deep research, real-life experience, and a genuine desire to help, our brand is designed to take the guesswork out of haircare.

Every formula is built with intention — matched to hair porosity, texture needs, and moisture methods like LOC, LCO, and LLC. We’ve studied the science, explored the nuances of different hair types, and created luxurious solutions for every stage of the journey.

Luxury meets intention — and every strand tells your story. Because feeling beautiful should never feel complicated.

Our rituals are designed to elevate your routine — to make every wash day or style prep a moment of self-celebration. Whether you’re starting fresh or redefining your relationship with your natural texture, we’re here to walk with you, strand by strand.

We’re proudly cruelty-free, Australian made, and committed to ethical sourcing and environmentally conscious practices — because care shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet or its people.

Silquinox is here to honour your roots — and everything they represent.

Haircare for you

1

LLC Method
Low-Medium Porosity Hair

Leave-In → Liquid (Water-Based) → Cream

Low porosity hair can be resistant to moisture, so this method starts with a lightweight leave-in, followed by a water-based product to penetrate the hair shaft, and finishes with a cream to lock it in.

Silquinox Soothe & Hydrate Ritual Pack is crafted to support this exact layering — delivering gentle hydration without weighing your hair down.

2

LCO Method
Medium-High Porosity Hair

Leave-In → Cream → Oil

This method helps retain moisture for strands that absorb water quickly but struggle to hold it. Cream creates a moisture cushion, and oil seals it all in to prevent frizz and dryness.

Silquinox Seal & Shine Ritual Pack uses rich, nourishing layers to keep hair smooth, soft, and hydrated for longer — giving your strands the moisture security they crave.

3

LOC Method

Very Dry & High Porosity Hair

Leave-In → Oil → Cream

Ideal for thirsty, fragile strands, this method provides intense moisture retention in the exact order your hair needs it. Oil applied directly after the leave-in helps trap hydration, while the cream softens and protects.

Silquinox Satin Soak System is our most moisture-intensive ritual — perfect for deep nourishment, repair, and a lasting silky feel.

What is Hair Porosity & why is it important?

Understanding your porosity is key to unlocking real, lasting results — less frizz, more shine, better definition, and stronger, healthier strands over time.

That’s why every Silquinox Ritual Pack is intentionally designed to align with your hair’s porosity.

When your products match your porosity, your hair care becomes a ritual that works — not a guessing game.

Understanding your hair porosity doesn’t have to be complicated. Here's a quick and easy test you can do at home to help determine which Silquinox Ritual Pack is right for you.

The Water Glass Test

  1. Take a few clean, dry strands of hair (ideally from your brush or after washing — no product).

  2. Fill a clear glass with room temperature water.

  3. Drop the hair strands into the glass.

  4. Wait for 2–4 minutes, then observe

What Your Results Mean:

  • Floats at the top: You likely have Low Porosity hair. The cuticle is tightly sealed, so moisture takes longer to absorb.

  • Sinks slowly to the middle: This suggests Medium Porosity hair. Your cuticle lets in and holds moisture well.

  • Sinks quickly to the bottom: This indicates High Porosity hair. Your strands absorb moisture fast but can’t retain it without extra support.

Bonus tip: You can also observe how your hair reacts to water during washing. If it takes a long time to get wet, it’s likely low porosity. If it soaks up water instantly and dries quickly, it’s likely high porosity.

Moisture-Resistant, but Full of Potential.

Low porosity hair has tightly packed cuticles that lay flat, making it difficult for water and products to penetrate. While this type holds onto moisture once it’s in, it often resists hydration at first — leading to product build-up, dryness, or that “just sits on top” feeling.

Signs You May Have Low Porosity Hair:
  • Water beads or rolls off your hair during washing

  • Products seem to sit on your hair rather than absorb

  • Hair takes a long time to fully saturate or dry

  • Prone to build-up or looking greasy despite dryness

What It Needs:

Low porosity hair thrives with lightweight, hydrating formulas that absorb gradually and layer well without overwhelming your strands. Heat or steam can help open the cuticle, allowing moisture to sink in more effectively.

Your Ritual:

Silquinox Soothe & Hydrate Ritual Pack
Designed around the LLC Method (Leave-in, Liquid, Cream), this ritual delivers lightweight hydration in just the right order — for softer, shinier, more manageable hair without the heaviness.

Medium Porosity
Hair

Balanced & Versatile — the Sweet Spot of Hair Health.

Medium porosity hair has a cuticle structure that allows moisture to enter and stay, making it the most manageable porosity type. It generally responds well to most products, holds styles easily, and doesn't require as much intervention — but it still needs thoughtful care to maintain that balance.

Signs You May Have Medium Porosity Hair:
  • Hair absorbs water fairly easily and dries at a moderate pace

  • Takes to colour and styling well

  • Feels soft and healthy most of the time

  • Occasionally experiences dryness or frizz, especially with weather changes

What It Needs:

This hair type thrives with a mix of moisture and sealing. Maintaining hydration while protecting the cuticle is key — especially to prevent porosity from increasing due to heat or chemical damage over time.

Your Ritual:

Silquinox Seal & Shine Ritual Pack
Based on the LCO Method (Leave-in, Cream, Oil), this ritual balances nourishing moisture with a protective finish, keeping hair soft, glossy, and beautifully defined.

High Porosity Hair

Thirsty, Fragile & Full of Texture — Treat It With Intention.

High porosity hair has raised or damaged cuticles that absorb moisture quickly, but lose it just as fast. This may be your natural hair type, or the result of heat styling, chemical treatments, or environmental stress. Without the right care, high porosity hair can become dry, brittle, and prone to breakage.

Signs You May Have High Porosity Hair:
  • Hair gets wet instantly but dries very quickly

  • Often feels dry or frizzy, even after using products

  • Tangles easily and may feel rough to the touch

  • Struggles to retain moisture throughout the day

What It Needs:

Deep, rich hydration paired with sealing ingredients. High porosity hair benefits from layering moisture in a way that helps it stay in — using oils and creams that smooth the cuticle, reduce frizz, and boost elasticity.

Your Ritual:

Silquinox Satin Soak System
Our richest hydration method, the LOC Routine (Leave-in, Oil, Cream) is tailored to deeply nourish and protect. This pack delivers lasting softness and resilience for hair that needs extra love.
